Conceptual: Reflection and Refraction Practice
The was no bellwork today so that you could have as much time as possible to work on missing assignments or Reflection and Refraction Practice. This is a lot like your test (which is next Tuesday) and is due tomorrow.

Honors: Finding Index of Refraction of Acrylic
First we did a bellwork to make last night's homework a little more clear:
Then we looked at a couple of demonstrations of total internal reflection. I took some (bad) video of one demo; the video is here.
Finally, we worked on Refraction Lab: Index of Refraction of Acrylic. Keep in mind there was a rectangle on the front where you took your data that does not show up in this link. This lab is due tomorrow.

Lens Lab: Real Images - Part 1
Today we are starting a lab, but we won't get all that far. First, some bellwork, during which we found out that the place where an image forms behind a convex lens is the focal point IF the light coming into the lens is parallel. The light will be parallel if the source is very far away.

So we took some lenses, looked at a distance source of light (outside), and measured the focal length for our lab. We will continue this tomorrow; please fill out the values of d_o based on the focal length of your lens.

Thursday, 2/12 and Friday, 2/13: Test 2 Review
Today and tomorrow are your days to review for your test next Wednesday. The test will cover light, reflection, and refraction. The review questions are below.

30. Trucks often have signs on their backs that say, “If you can’t see my mirrors, I can’t see you.” Explain the physics here.
