Today we talked about centripetal force and practiced a problem combining circular motion and friction. Your homework is Circular Motion II.

Conceptual: Rotational Motion
Today we introduced the two kinds of rotational motion as well as the two kinds of speed/velocity involved. We did run around outside for a bit, but there are also notes below. Your homework is Circular Motion I.

Honors: Forces Practice
Today we are practicing some conceptual problems. Several of these are from last semester, so I thought we could use a refresher before adding friction into the mix tomorrow.

Honors: Three Practice Problems
Today we're just going to practice three problems: a box on a flat surface with no angled forces, a box on a flat surface with angled forces, and a box on an incline. All of these are frictionless.
Honors Forces II (note that the paper given in class has a drawing for each problem)

Conceptual: Forces Practice
Today we worked on an assignment that is basically a practice test: Forces Practice. I need this by tomorrow so I can grade it and get it back to you on Thursday because YOUR TEST IS FRIDAY.

Honors: What To Do With Angled Forces and Ramps
Today we started talking about how to deal with forces that are at an angle. We also started a problem about a box on a ramp, but we did not finish.
No homework tonight.

Conceptual: Free Body Diagrams
First we practiced adding vectors in order to find net force - we did this with velocities back in December. Next we described what goes into (and does NOT go into) a free body diagram.
Homework for the weekend is Net Force and Acceleration. There are three extra credit problems; you do not HAVE to do those.

Conceptual: Newton's 3rd Law
Newton's 3rd Law is my favorite, so please don't misuse it! It only applies to forces, not actions of people.
Homework is Newton's 3rd Law - it is a small paper, so don't lose it!

Honors: Free Body Diagrams
Today we review how to add vectors so we can find net force, then we briefly described how to create a free body diagram. Homework tonight is Net Force and Acceleration.

Conceptual: 5 Letter Word Game!
Because of the poetry thing in the LRC and the CTE field trip we are missing about half of our students. I don't want that many people to miss content, so I am teaching you the 5 Letter Word Game instead. We'll get back to normal activities tomorrow.

Teacher Out
Hi all - I have no water this morning and I HAVE TO HAVE A SHOWER! So I'm taking the day off. I have left you a reading called "Ten Things You Didn't Know About the Earth" by the super awesome Phil Plait. Please answer the questions on your own paper and turn them into the assignment chute. If you do both reading A and reading B, I'll give you extra credit!

Honors: Newton's 2nd Law Lab Continued
Hey guys! We're still working on our lab, but we spent the first 10 minutes of class on a bellwork that will help you process your data. The full lab report is due Monday, but if you finish early please turn it in early.

Honors: Newton's Second Law Lab
Today is the first day of several we will spend working on the lab below. Your lab report will be due next week. Remember to focus on the kinds of errors we talked about yesterday.

Honors: Errors
Today we had a rather meandering discussion about random and systematic errors as well as the difference between an error and a mistake. There will be some notes on the back of your next lab, which we will start tomorrow.
Conceptual: Forces
Welcome back, everyone! We're starting off the new semester with a unit on forces. First up, some general stuff - nothing too taxing for all of you that did not sleep last night. Next up: Newton's Laws!
